I love my original Kossel Delta Printer, But i hate that it only has a small print bed.
So this project is to enlarge my Kossel to the full size 220 print bed.
I am using https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:154832 as part of my rebuild of my delta.
please give credit to https://www.thingiverse.com/Crashoverride for his help in designing this upgraded Delta.
I used #8 3/4 Self Drilling Screws to mount the 3/4 inch Aluminum square tube to the printed ends.
I just did my final Calculations on this Upgrade.
This new design can print on a 225mmx844mm area or 9 1/16"x33 1/4" area.
Final Print size is 230x509.5 or a max of 230x527.5
6/5/2017: Update. I had some problems getting the Extruder base to sit level when i was doing the Dry Run process. so I've updated the RODS to 300mm from Center to Center.
With that update I was able to get a print surface of 250x475.
SIDE NOTE
"I'm not trying to take credit for all of the stl files, yes I have modified them to work on my design. and yes you may have seen them on https://www.thingiverse.com.
But I wouldn't say I have designed all of them just MOD them for this Printer."
6-12-2017: as of today, the new EX Delta is done and working.
I've added springs to bed so I can adjust them.
I've also added a second power supply to power the bed, it was taking way to long to heat extruder and bed at same time, so second power supply with a 25 amp power module.
I've also added the firmware I used to get this Delta working.
I've also included a lower base so this Delta will be and extra 2 inches higher to accommodate the extra power supply.
In conclusion, everything I tried or used is added to this delta, they all work, I just tried different variations till I liked the current final version.
This final version with the 300mm rods can print on a 12 inch print bed if you want to take this version to the next level.
The final print area is 220x454.7 with and extra 40mm at top.
