Description
Saint George is the patron saint of knights – that is why he is often depicted in armor, riding a horse. He is particularly popular in Eastern Europe and in Greece. His most famous depiction is when he defeats the dragon.
This statue is part of the Old Master Sculpture & Works of Art Sale on the 6th of July at Sotheby's London.
