This is my entry into Capcom's 3D printing Monster Hunter Generations. I selected and made a collectible sized relic great sword - the Type 41 Wyvernator.
The print is 16 inches tall and is split into parts for easy printing and assembly. Most parts can be printed without supports. The only part that has to be mirrored and printed twice is the blade.
I printed everything at 200 micron resolution, with 10% infill using Hatchbox PLA. It took roughly 30 hours to print. I then finished the print with high build primer filler and painted it using miniature acrylic paints.
The model was sculpted in Zbrush and broken apart in 3ds Max - there is plenty of detail in the sculpts to be sized up and printed full size. I found sizing it up 650% will allow for a 1 inch diameter wooden dowel to be used as the handle for added strength. The overall length would be 64 inches.
