Leaf Range Graph Display
Leaf Range Graph Display
Published 2021-02-17T09:15:10+00:00
This is a 3D printable frame for a 1.8 inch TFT display that I use to display a graph of range over time. The display is inserted inside the central Leaf dash (for a ZE0 2011 LEAF) over the top of the existing range estimate (aka the "guess-o-meter").
This project is a derivative of my SOC display project, see https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-nissan-leaf-soh-display-frame-105234
The Range chart display shows a simple X-Y chart with Estimated range on the Y axis and Distance on the X axis. A green line shows my optomistic projected range, and a red line shows my pessimistic range estimate. Then a white dot shows the typicial range estimate plotted as the "live" trip progresses.
This is useful on long drives when you want to know if you are driving better/worse/or as expected. If you're on a flat road and your "live" range plot is trending worse than typical (ie you're dipping below the red line) then you can slow down to move the live plot back towards the green line.
Update 13 April 2022
Have added two new options for this project:
Option 2 is not as good visually but is great for testing in a new car before committing to opening the dash (to install option 1).
Both the new options need support material when printing. Set support threshold to 50%.
Option 1 can be printed face down or face up.
