DESSIGN:
Trophy that shows all the possibilities that additive manufacturing has. The MJF piece is designed to show a lattice structure and a Voronoi diagram. These structures allow an organic finish and reduce the density of the construction. This design give an aesthetic finish that also allows easy construction and post-processing. The piece for SLA generates a diagrid on a surface that encompasses the entire central part of the MJF piece.
The design has been generated with Rhino / Grasshopper + Blender. Thanks to this parametric program it is possible to create structures optimized for the AM. The renderings have been generated with Blender / Cycles.
FINISH:
My idea for this design is to use the classic colours of the technologies. For the MJF piece use the classic black tinting. The SLA piece is made with the transparent material of Protolabs.
