Upgrade the Original Prusa Mini with an E3D V6 hotend. This upgrade allows a wider range of materials such as nylon or polycarbonate. Works with R1 Minda holder and everything else R2.
I originally began this project back in December after my Minda failed...xD
This modification is not for beginners...
Print everything at 0.2mm layer height with 2 external perimeters, 4 bottom and 5 top rectlinear layers, and 35% gyroid infill using PETG unless specified.
Bearings should be printed at 0.3mm layer height, 2 external perimeters, 100% rectlinear infill, and 4 bottom and 5 top rectlinear layers.
Radial fan and 40mm fan ducts should be printed at 0.2mm layer height, 2 external perimeters, 100% rectlinear infill, and 4 bottom and 5 top rectlinear layers.
Replace all PTFE tubing with Capricorn. This includes the extruder. Use appropriate PC connectors, 10mm thread.
Bottom bearing is 608.
Trapezoidal nuts are from MK3. Swap z motor from MK3. This upgrade works without the z motor swap however you will need to source specific Mini hardware because the pitch is different.
Some of these upgrades can be found online. However the hotend swap is completely original. This collection simplifies the search.
That should be everything. Please do not hesitate to message for help. I also have several prints and videos demonstrating proof of concept.
