June is Pride month.
As a company, we typically try to avoid taking stances on anything that could be deemed political. But we believe that equality, diversity, and equal rights for all are things worth fighting for and celebrating.
So—we'll brandish this flag proudly, with several of us joining in at Pride Toronto (where we call home).

Notes : This pride flag was printed at 60mm high (with 0.2mm layer heights, that's 300 layers). The flag has 6 even bands of color (with 300 layers, that's about 50 layers per color). But since the top of the flag is a bit wavy, we swapped colors every 49 layers so the red band wasn't too small. So, we swapped filaments at layers: 49, 98, 147, 196, 245. We did this by slicing the g-code file and searching for "layer 49", "layer 98", and so on in the G-code file. Then, we manually added beep and pause commands to tell us when to swap filaments. For this print, we used a CraftBot that can accept G197 commands (pause print and move head to home position, and wait for instructions to resume print). We inserted the following code: `M300 ; play beep sound` `G197 ; pause print, move to home position, wait for instructions` This allowed us not to have to watch the print too carefully. Then, every time the printer beeped (at layers 49, 98, 147, ...) we manually unloaded/loaded filament to swap colors, and resumed the print until the next pause. For printers that do not accept G197 commands, you could do the following: `M300 ; play beep sound` `G4 P4000 ; pause print for 4 seconds` So long as you hear your printer beep, the 4 seconds should be enough for you to know when to change your filament. (Some printers do not respond to pause commands that are longer than 5 seconds.) This print took about 3 hrs 30 min at a print speed of 40mm/s.
