As I stumbled upon this gramophone (https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-alexa-gramophone-64972 thanks to TheGreatMrBill) I had the idea of a new smart assistant gramophone that looks nice and also has some features to make it BETTER.

Unfortunately I found this contest just a few days ago so I had to submit my project as "in progress" (but nearly finished).

My model ist 100% modeled by me (no redesign) and has following specs and features:

- Non visible echo dot because it's in the inside. I did not want to mix the retro/classic design of a gramophone with a new design of a smart electronical assistant
- rotating vinyl record: in my .stl-File there is a 3D-printable spring that can be tightend with the crank but there is one big disadvantage: the vinyl starts rotating very fast and then slows down very quickly. I wanted a consistent turning speed so I put a small electric motor and a 9V battery in it.
With some little changes you could use the crank as a switch that connects the motor and the battery. Or you put a 3D printed escapement wheel in it but then you always hear the ticking sound that reminds of a clock.
- speaker: most of the smart assistants (I used Amazons Echo Dot, 2nd generation) have a headphone jack so I put a little speaker and microphone in it. Glue the speaker in the rear wall right over the hole that connects the horn. There is no need for additional power for the speaker,  a small speaker is absolutely enough because the sound will be much louder thanks to the horn. 
Attention: you do NOT have to use a speaker. If you abstain from using one you can talk directly into the horn; your smart assistant will hear you as if it stood on the table normally.
- If you connect a speaker you also have to connect a microphone via the same cable / plug because the built-in microphone will turn off (talking of Echo Dot). I made a little hole in the front wall and glued the microphone into it, works great!
- For the design I researched the internet for pictures of real gramophones.

I'm not really good at painting or airbrushing, honestly this was my first airbrushed model so please have mercy with me.
