I've been experimenting with lost PLA. The first part we tried was a half scale version of the make robot. The guy I'm working on it with suggested we add on a ring for a necklace or jewlery so I did.
The ring was added in meshmixer.
It does have a self intersection at the hands. Skeinforge does fine with this, but can't speak for others.
The first attempts to print this in PLA just left a mushy blob for the keychain. So I ran one in ABS while the PLA cooling fan upgrade was printing.

Updated: Added second model with loop sideways.
No bronze filament on this. The one in the picture was printed in ABS, then vapor polished, and investment cast. Instead of the typical wax, we just burnt out the plastic part. Print at 0.2 mm layer height, with 10% infill. This uses 3 g of filament and takes 17 minutes.
