Resembling Stalagmites when still, it is usualy very late when you fell in their deadly embrace. Ropers are denizens of caves and underground areas and they like to abush their prey.
Their skin is rock like hard, have a big mouth with sharp teeth, one eye and 4 long tentacle like arms.
