Round Castle Towers
Round Castle Towers

If you start with a castle that has only square towers, the next logical step should be to upgrade to round towers at some stage.
The images show round towers as a printout at 1:144 scale, which is at 50% size setting. The pegs and holes on the sides would allow you to add wall elements from my previous castle and roman wall posts. As usual there is a hole at the top of the tile tower roof for the windsock of your choice.
Update 08.02.2020 - after printing out at full size = 1:72 scale I adjusted the door hinges and some of the stairs to better interact with the existing wall pieces in other posts. Note the tower top is slightly oval and it is supposed to fit best when lower and upper stairs+floors align, which should now be the case. Pictures to follow !
If you want to walk around yourself in a virtual diorama of a castle that has such towers, follow this link https://play.unity.com/mg/other/a-different-abandoned-castle . Here you can experience the creaking door hinges, winding staircases and constantly changing views firsthand !
Settings for the model in the images here were 50% size, PLA with 0.4mm nozzle/0.15mm layer height, on an Ultimaker 2+. At this scale you pretty much have to glue everything together (gates, doors, upper tower and roof elements) for the model to be of any use. At larger scales though, you should be able to keep components separate i.e. take off the towers and roofs to populate the inside.
