Description
Found at Rhamnous Attica, in the small temple of Nemesis. The statue is preserved with its plinth and pedestal. The head is inlaid. Both arms were made of separate pieces of marble. The woman wears a chiton and a himation that covers her entire body. She will have held a bowl in her right hand. According to the inscription incised on the front of the pedestal, the statue depicting the priestess Aristonoe was dedicated to Themis and Nemesis by her son, Hierokles, son of Hieropoios of Rhamnous.
