Allegedly Asia Minor (Turkey), acquired in 1841
Marble, 440 - 440 BC
The torso is a Greek original from the High Classical period or an excellent copy from the early Roman imperial age. The damages on the surface make it difficult to decide. The statue with a beardless head must most likely be supplemented by a cantharos in the right and a thyrsos staff in the left hand.
