Description
Found in the sanctuary of Amphiaraos at Oropos. The depiction of the various phases in the curing of a patient. At the right, a suppliant, probably the sick man or a relative, approaches, venerating. At the left, Amphiaraos cures the same patient by touching him on the shoulder. The panel on a tall base in the background denotes the sacred area in which the events are taking place. According to the inscription, the relief was dedicated to Amphiaraos by Archinos.
