It's design time again! This time with a bit of a twist.

 

Desktop 3D printing has in some ways become synonymous with funky looking vases - so we thought it was high time we embrace this trend and call on the amazing MyMiniFactory community to come up with designs that blow all those other vases out of the water. 


We want you to unleash those creative juices and come up with the most amazing vase or planter design you can think of. This time around, instead of deciding the winner by downloads, we are going to sell the designs through the MyMiniFactory store, the winning design then takes home the proceeds of all the sales. Individual designers will also recieve 15% of each sale they make (the rest goes into the pot). 

As long as it resembles a vase or planter, or functions as one, your design will be accepted. Enter now. Show off your skills. Make money. Impress your mum.

Check out this blog post for design tips for 3D printing. Your design needs to be support free in order to be a valid entry for this competition. 

• Submit your design files using the green "submit your design" button at the bottom of the page.

• You can submit as many entries as you like - as long as it is your own, original work. 

• If your design is in multiple parts, please make sure you submit all parts (as STLs) with assembly instructions or diagrams of how they fit together.

• If you have any special instructions for your design, please indicate these in the description box.

• Your design must fit within the typical build volume of a desktop 3D printer - think 18 x 18 x 18 cm

 

• All entries that meet the requirements will be hosted on MyMiniFactory.com 
• All STL files will be made available to the public to download for free.

• All designs will be sold in the MyMiniFactory store, designers will receive 15% of the proceeds from each of their sales. 

• The remaining 85% will be placed into a pot, which the top three winners will split at the end of the competition.

• The top 3 designs with the most sales will receive the following cut of the prize pool: 1st 60%, 2nd 30%, 3rd - 10%

• MyMiniFactory will start the pot off at $500, so there is a guaranteed prize pool. 

• All participants will receive a $50 voucher code for the  iMakr store.

       • they are fully transferrable to your friends/families/institutions
