Print each Emoji Cap using the .stl files as explained in the PDF guide. The .stl files here can be used to create more than 30 of the standard Emojis. Or mix and match the designs to create your own unique cap!
I printed the caps separately and then glued the faces on them to get the most vibrant colors. However, full emojis can be printed as one with multiple filaments (depending on your printer's capabilities) and/or painted after printing.
Printing the solid cap upside down eliminates the need for supports. This may change if you print the facial features and cap together, depending on how you orient them in your slicer. I recommend including rafts and skirts for all prints.
A single cap (Emoji Cap_MAIN.stl) took about 80 minutes to print on my Qiditech I Dual Extruder with 20% infill and a raft. (The Poop, Devil, and Cat caps take a little longer.) The facial features took about 15-20 minutes per Emoji, also with 20% infill and rafts. I batched facial features that used the same colors to save printing time. I had great results slicing with Simplify3D.
Note: As printed, these are NOT watertight, due to the limits of printing with PLA. If you would like a watertight Emoji Cap for your soda can, I recommend scaling the model down by 2-4% and printing in a flexible, food-safe, watertight plastic/silicone. If you are able to print a watertight cap, please post a photo!
Note: I would love to print the poop emoji with a rainbow effect, but I haven't found a rainbow filament with a fast enough gradient change for such a small print. I may try my hand at painting a rainbow gradient on a white print. If I do, I'll post a photo. If anyone knows of a quick gradient rainbow PLA, post post in the comments.
