For the Esso pop can design challenge, I wanted to create something that I use everyday. As a photography student at Seneca College and a designer I wanted to combine both passions into one. I love film photography and I thought a camera would be a perfect way to upcycle old pop cans. I included a lot of photos so have a look and print your own. This was a fun challenging project and a lot of fun to design and print. I can't wait to see who the winners are. Good luck to everyone else.
If you are going to make the camera there are some things to note: number 1. the pop can itself needs to have the bottom and top cut off with a can opener. Second, you will need to cut a 35 mm Frame sized hole in the front of the can and two smaller round holes on the top side of the can. The lens of the camera came out of a disposable camera that I took apart. When taking apart a disposable camera, be VERY CAREFUL NOT TO SHOCK YOURSELF. Finally, after printing your parts the NEW FILM, FRAME and TAKE UP modules need to be sanded and glued together.
