Roseline Granet is a French sculptor who was born January 28, 1936 in Paris. Granet was a student at the Art Students League of New York in 19541 . She then attended the Atelier Zadkine and the Academy of the Grande Chaumiere in Paris between 1956 and 19592. There she met her comrades Sam Szafran , draftsman and future pastel , and Jacques Delahaye, the sculptor who encourage to establish the Fonderie Clementi in Meudon in 1960. Since then, she works on her sculpture at this location, just steps from the studio of Auguste Rodin . Her works were installed in various exhibitions in 2004 at the Darthea Gallery Speyer, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.
This larger than life piece is iconic of her wor; the subject matter always figurative and in motion, people in couples in often fantastical situations through levitating or running. The pieces, much like this is a great showcase of the artist's ability to capture such themes in sculpture, seemingly defying the laws of balance, symmetry and gravity.
