What is a the modern miniature home enthusiast to do? Despite the dawn of the twenty-first century being far behind is, the miniature world is still mired in Victoriana. No more! Tiny people, you will no longer be denied hipster trends!
Possibly inspired by my own home decor, here we have the glory of The Crate! Stackable, useful, manipulable into any number of kinds of furniture, but most importantly the four-crate coffee table. Step out of the overpriced second-hand clothing store, put down your chai latte, and let us celebrate the wonder of sturdy wooden boxes.
(Aside: For the record, I do have crate furniture in my home. However, it's tough to get crates around here, so I made them. Out of pallet wood. Yup. Shhhh....)
In terms of printing, everything here, including the crate, is intended to be very easy to print, regardless of the printer. No overhangs, even, despite our crate having planks with gaps... in fact, the crate is printed flat-packed, using technology developed by NASA and IKEA. Oh, and the sides bend and clip together - no glue required! Likewise, the cushions and stripes are designed for a neat but sturdy friction fit.
