Description
Plaster cast of a limestone effigy pipe from Moundville, Alabama, depicting the Underwater Panther. Photographs of this pipe were published by Clarence B. Moore (1905:Figs. 1-3). The original is in the collections of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University (cat. no. 48121), and is currently on display at the Jones Archaeological Museum in Moundville Archaeological Park, Moundville, Alabama. It is 158 mm long, 96 mm wide, and 164 mm high.
