Description
Sappho (630–570 BC) was an archaic Greek poet from the island of Lesbos. She is known for her lyric poetry, written to be sung and accompanied by a lyre, which is portrayed in this sculpture as well.
Comte Prosper D'Epinay (1836-1914) was a Mauritian-born artist, active in France and Italy.
