Description
This smiling head is the representation of a young satyr, easily identified by the mischievous expression and tuft of hair on the right cheek. Satyrs were companions of the god Dionysus, often portrayed drunk and sexual. The leave and fruit crown he is wearing is easily visible, since the hair is arranged in locks and raised from the forehead.
