Hi friends,
I don't know about you, but I'm unable to evaluate the good size of the small screws I use for my Geetech I3 Pro B. So I decided to make a gadget for that.
There are 2 pieces. One with the scale and the other with holes where screws have to be inserted. Then you slide the second until the screw stops the slider. And you read the size just under.
The slider has 3 holes: 2.5, 3 and 4mm plus a "universal hole". You can measure screws from 4mm to 30mm every 2mm. I added too 5mm and 25mm. It is very easy to use. As I don't know how to post animated gifs, here is a link to see how that works :

I only painted the digits with a marker but you can print cleanly by inserting the M600 code in youy gcode for changing filament juste before the digits.
As I always loose the slider, I made a hole for a screw (M3 10 or 12mm) and a notch on the slider to hang a rubber band. It should be held with a washer. No more loss ! I like that.
I have had a thought for left-handed users. I made a reversed version. Use "screwmeter v2 left-h.stl" file. I have not printed it (I'm righ-handed ;). So if you notice something wrong, let me a comment.
I suggest you to put soap on slider before using it.
I hope you will like it and that it will be useful for you. Feel free to leave a Like or comment. It's always nice and it does not cost much.
Bonjour chez vous
