L'Espérance (Fr. tr. Expectation) is a lifesize sculpture by Lemoyne Saint-Paul (also known as Paul Lemoyne, 1783-1873). The marble sculpture depicts a woman sitting on a rock, leaning on an anchor; it is generally associated to be a marine sculpture, representative of the women who wait for their spouces to return from their voyages on the docks where they left.
