Of course, the 5015 rotary fans are loud when cranked up.. But do they have to be?? I had looked for a good induction silencer for one. and nothing was available. So, I opened up Autocad and went to work. Thankfully I have some knowledge in frequency resonance and accoustics, so that came into play. Now, of course you aren't going to completely silence the fan, but it does take a lot of the edge off and is now not any louder than a standard square fan. I attached a cutaway image of the flow path that was engineered into it. It uses frequency cancellation. I could probably eliminte about 50% more of the frequencies, but I didn't want to inhibit flow...so, this design was the compromise. If you like it, well.. then like it. If you REALLY like it, through me a tip to help support any future 'things' I make. Thanks!
I printed flat side down with supports to the build top only. This is a rough print, so I used .23 build height. I also built on a thin raft, but it isn't necessary. Enjoy!
