Description
The 'hospital' of St Katherine was founded by the Queen Matilda before 1148. The master, the brothers, sisters and poor residents had to pray and attend masses for members of the royal family. The foundation distributed 1000 halfpennies to the local poor every year as well as providing for six poor scholard and ten elederly beadswomen.
