Description
The woman depicted in this bust wears an elaborate hairstyle, similar to that of Octavia, sister of Augustus. There is, however, a variation in the forehead knot, which is substituted by short, curly strands.
The cutting of the torso indicates that the portrait was inserted either into a statue or in a niche inside a burial chapel. Dating from the end of the 1st century B.C.
