Cut-out Planter
Cut-out Planter

I made this planter based on several designs I saw in stores but didn't want to pay a lot of money for. This design is very modern-looking and the hole in the middle offers an awesome home for an air plant. There are six holes at the bottom for drainage and a small base to catch any excess water.
The base prints really easily flat on the build plate with no supports needed. I printed using a 0.2 mm layer height and 10% infill.
The main body of the planter is easy to print with supports. I added a support enforcer to the very middle of the body to support the overhangs that occur due to the cyclindrical shape. Other than the very middle of the planter to support the main overhangs, no other supports are needed. The support in the cut-out area of the planter was easy to remove but the supports located inside the planter were quite difficult. I actually ended up leaving them inside of the planter and haven't noticed that it's caused any problems for me. I printed the main body at a 0.15 mm layer height and 10% infill.
Main Body:
Supports: Yes - support enforcers needed in the middle (see description for more details)
Layer height: 0.15 mm
Infill: 10%
Base:
Supports: No
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Infill: 10%
