Description
This sculpture has been commissioned in honour of Marguerite de Bourbon from the daughter Marguerite d’Autriche. She was Savoy duchess at the time and that’s when she founded the monastery of Brou. The tomb of the mother turned out as very traditional and classical, on the wall can be found an inscription saying “enfeu”.
The tomb of Marguerite has been conceived as a two level monument. At the top of the monument are engraved the initials P and M surrounded by classical and marvellous decorative elements.
