This is a simple and effective spool holder design that will allow you to mount a filament spool wherever you may need it.
The design started as just simply trying to think of something effective to enter into 3D Printing Nerd's design contest, but has come to the point where we will be replacing our current holders with this design.
The design consists of two models:
- A bracket (that will need to be printed at least twice for the most simple version of the holder)
- And a dowel or rod that clip into each bracket and hold the spools
These models are expandable as by printing just one extra bracket and dowel you will be able to upgrade to the ability to be able to hold spools and so on, this may be done as many times as needed... As long as you have the space of course.
The models have also been designed to be able to be printed without the need for any supports meaning they can be used straight off the printer with no problems.
I would recommend printing at 0.2mm layer heights but you are welcome to try higher if you think it will not create a problem with the small indents needed to clip the dowel to the bracket.
I hope anyone who prints this enjoys the design without facing any problems but if you have anything to say I would love to hear it.
I also just want to thank 3D Printing Nerd for starting this contest and allowing me to come up with this design that I take pride in :)
