Description
It comes from a family tomb built by Aurelius and Hecatea in life. The inscription warns that whoever dares to violate the tomb must pay a fine to the imperial treasury. From the 2nd c. onwards, funerary inscriptions often mention the beneficiaries of the burial, and may also include curses or threats directed toward grave-robbers or those who made illegal use of the tomb.
