Description
This fragmentary alabaster face comes from a sculpture of King Khafra. The nose is chipped, the beard is broken off, and both ears are missing except for the lobe of the right ear. The top of the head is broken off, but a joining fragment survives.
Provenance
From Giza, in debris at NE corner of G 5330. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
