--- Update ---
Thank you to the people that have supported me so far. I like a "contribute as you would like" method. That could be through posting great images of your make, helpful comments or suggestions, or a tip via MMF's Support Me button on each model page (not required but appreciated 😄). I have plans to release other items similar to this soon. Please feel free to message me with suggestions of objects to make.
--- Item Description ---
I had a blast making this and am proud of how it turned out! I think it looks great on my desk. Would also work great for future cosplay fun. Hope you enjoy it.
This model was designed to be printed modular via keys for inserting or sliding the parts together. This allows the object to be printed with controlled supports to minimize scaring, also accomodates different print bed sizes, and allows the different parts to be printed in different materials if wanted (in my case the eye). The arms slide laterally along the eye where as the other parts insert into the eye.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: The arms have to be the attached before the eye horns or side plates. If those other parts are attached before the arms they will not be able to slide on.
The other attachments have unique keys built into the parts that match specific slots on the eye for insertion. This helps to get the pieces in the right orientation and placement. The eye "horns" have triangle keys, the side plates have diamond ones, and the rear plates have hexigons (because they are the bestagons). The stand has it's own unqiue shape that can only insert one way on the bottom of the eye. When inserting the part's keys into their slot a dab of super glue does wonders.
I printed all of the parts in a regular resin, except for the eye. I printed the eye with a transparent resin that I mixed in green and black "Epoxy UV Resin Color Dyes" before printing to get that "ghostly" green color in the resin that enabled the fun glowing eye pictures. I learned that trick from Uncle Jesse's 3D printing channel on YouTube.
I have added some assembly pictures and a picture of it on my desk so people can get an idea of its size after it is assembled.
The stand was designed to be hive like with an organic feel with hive runes. I did not have the time, but I thought the runes would look cool with flourescent green paint in them as if there was a spell active on them like in the game.
*Please do not turn around and sell prints of this item. If you would like to sell prints of our models please feel free to message us
