Description
Culture: Iron Age Material: Stone Accession No: HCA 467. Current Location: The Hunt Museum, Limerick. A roughly hewn polished stone lamp typical of the Scottish and Irish Iron Age. A short handle protrudes from the side and the rim is decorated in a single continuous line of chevron detail. Described by William Knowles as being of a ‘class of cups or goblets which were placed beside most of the public wells in pagan times’. This object was found in Connor, Co. Antrim. More.
