Description
The goddess Kubaba holds a mirror in one hand and a pomegranate in the other, symbols of magic and fertility. Kubaba was a partner of the storm god Teshub and one of the most important deities in the city of Cachemish. Located on the Euphrates River, the public buildings of this grand city were decorated with stone sculptures.
The rulers of Carchemish carved dedicatory inscriptions to the goddess on monuments.
