Mechanical Maker Competition Mini Mechanica by Dan (@Mechanistic) https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/mtnstm/mini_mechanica/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
Fully printed on my Prusa Mini. I used Copper, Silver, Black and White filament. Completly printed on my Prusa Mini+ Link to first video: https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/mud2tt/just_finished_my_tourbillon_mechanica_triaxial/ Cinematic video: https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/musnws/i_felt_like_both_my_triaxial_tourbillion_and_my/
Created with out of the box Ender 3 pro, using Prusa slicer, and Sunlu black and Enotepad Twinkling Blue. Finished off with base using Anycubic Photon mono resin printer with clear Anycubic resin with some yellow pigment added. The classic Tourbillion Mechanica. Great print, amazing design and the most detailed assembly guide I have seen in a long time :-) Video: https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/mw66yx/my_tourbillion_mechanica_in_working_orden_grrat/
Mini mechanica lost in time https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/mx6dmh/mini_mechanica_lost_in_time/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
This is my submission for the Mechanical maker competition. I had a lot of fun making the mini mechanica. It honestly felt like an adult lego set which was quite enjoyable. I found that its simple exterior view yet complex assembly was quite intriguing and slightly frustrating. I also had fun throwing together the video in my Reddit post. I hope to build the Tri-Axial at some point! Hello, I had so much fun building this, i never intended to take part in this competition in the first place. But I am so happy with this magically clock i just have to share it. I liked the colours of the Tri Axis Tourbillon in the manual so much that I decided to pick this colours for my print. Here is my Post over at reddit with a video of the working tourbillon: https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/mzzx42/my_mechanistic_tri_axis_tourbillon_build/ Thank you so so much Dan for creating this. I would love to see more techincal Art themed things to buy and build here!

This is my submission for the Mechanical maker competition. The more complex "Tourbillon Mechanica Tri-Axial" is in the process of being made. My 3D printer is Snapmaker 2 A350.

Here is a my build of the mini tourbillon. Managed to dial in the settings for my printer (Tevo Tornado) so there was little or no clean-up. Only part which caused some trouble was the hairspring which was printed in PETG (The rest was PLA). Thanks to Dan for the excellent design and detailed build instructions Videos can be found here https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/n8am53/mini_tourbillon/ https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/n8amrw/mini_tourbillon/ Rob

I am participating in the Mechanical Maker COMPETITION. https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/npllmz/i_made_a_tripleaxis_tourbillon_mechanical_clock/ I used a 3D printer to print a Triple-Axis Tourbillon Mechanical Clock. It took about a month to complete. My 3D printer is a Snapmaker 2. Thanks for a very fun time. http://butsuyokuou.at.webry.info This is a blog written only in Japanese.
Sorry for the blob of text...could not figure out line breaks... see reddit post for better readability and videos! https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/nv4pp7/my_mostlymetal_tourbillon_mechanica_triaxial_is/ I originally wanted to print my clock with silky PLA in metal colors, but decided I wanted more of a antique/artifact vibe, worthy of going on a bookshelf in a cozy room, so I used protopasta's metal-filled filaments. The idea is the base of this clock is very very old, while the more delicate pieces have been maintained better or replaced over time. In reality that is kind of true, I aged the parts before assembly, and I have tinkered with it so much (including reprinting parts, greasing and even dousing the clock in wd-40!) that a lot of the original oxidation has been removed (which you can see comparing early photos to the video) and it will re-oxidize, either naturally or i may carefully help it along.) I used Bronze, Iron, Copper and Brass. The copper alloys are over 50% metal by weight. Every single part was filed/sanded/brushed to expose more metal. Due to how many pieces, and how intridcate they are, its hard to get a great shiny metal look all over, so I am really relying on the oxidated look The fast oxidation was achieved using household chemicals, and actually caused some issues when I tried to lazily apply additional weathering to the assembled clock (I rusted the pins!) I disassembled, reassembled, and reprinted parts many times to get this running. This was printed on my Voron 2.4 and chewed through a set of extruder gears and a few brass nozzles. The chosen material adds increased difficulty to the project due to increased friction and weight (copper alloys are 2x as dense as normal PLA!) and being harder to print and weaker layer adhesion. It currently is using ABS printed springs and runs up to 10 minutes (if im lucky). I may try some stronger metal springs later but the first set I bought from aliexpress were not strong enough.

Very nice and well made mechanism, you can't stop using it, it's very fascinating. The video to see it in action is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/oi1s40/mini_mechanica/
This is my all resin Mini Mechanica submission for the Mechanical Maker Competition. I wanted to show that DLP resin printers can make these clocks too. I also used the STLs to make custom stencils to add some filigree to the model with my airbrush. Video available at: https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/oi7w1l/sla_mini_mechanica/

The first mechanical design I've printed. I just recently got a 3d printer and have been immersed in the world. This competition has me itching to make more though! I hope to be printing the Tourbillon Mechanica Tri-Axial soon! I printed the Light Themed model first followed by a dark themed model as well. My interpretation of the Mini Mechanica with the colors of the Italian flag. You can see it in motion on: https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/ojnxsy/mini_mechanica/
I was planning to submit other entries as well but the bearings took months to arrive, leaving me no time to finish the other clocks... But here's my only entry. I completed the tri-axial build. But, could not get it to run on it’s own, without my hand assisting the movement, no matter how many parts I have reprinted. I am guessing there is a gear somewhere with just enough resistance to cause it to not run on it’s own. Link to video of it working. But, can’t get it to work without some assistance. https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrintCommunity/comments/on2n12/tourbillon_mechanica_triaxial_competition/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Made with Ender 3 Pro using mix of PLA brands including Silk Gold, Copper, and Silver by MIKA3D. Used my Anycubic Photon Mono resin printer, using clear resin with mix of colors to make purple supports and non-gear related parts.
