Description
Luigi Canonica was a Swiss architect and urban planner whose prominent career as an exponent of neoclassicism was spent largely in Milan and Lombardy. This monument is a tribute to him, sculpted by Milanese sculptor Raffaele Monti in a neo-classical style. in the middle, between the two "putti" (little angels, typical of the Renaissance) holding a crown of flowers, there is the symbol of Architecture: a pair of compasses, a set sqaure and a ruler.
