I wanted to make a cartridge protector that could be printed in under half an hour with a normal printer. what i got was a functional nintendo switch cartridge protector that prints (with two parts on the same buildplate using build one after the other commands) in 18 minutes.
Using the vase mode (spiralize outer contour) and good airflow, I was able to give the case features that make both parts lock together.
I also discovered, mainly through my lazyness of not changing filimnet colors, is that if you use a semi transparent filiment, it can come out semi transparent, allowing you to see your game within the case.
Ideal for the portable game cases that are purchased with the console, these covers prevent damage to the pins aswell as protect against dust and dibris.
here are my settings for producing these prints
layer height .2mm
initial layer height .25mm
print speed should be set in accordance to what works for your printer.
wall thickness 0.4mm
top bottom thickness 0.4mm
printed using a skirt buildplate adhesion method.
print sequence: one at a time, (if you print both halfs at once, also make sure that they are not in the path of the print head to the home location once the print head completes some printers tend to auto home.)
