Nissan Leaf suspension strut cover
Nissan Leaf suspension strut cover

The front suspension struts on a Nissan Leaf (2011 to 2023) can fill up with water and rust. Use this cover to keep the rain out. You should still apply a rust preventer to the bolt before putting this in place.
Print two, one for each side. (Although the problem is usually mostly on the drivers side where the windscreen wiper hole is.)
This design is super easy to print - no need to use supports (ie., no wasted plastic).
It doesn't matter which way round you put it on.
I used PLA because it's the least environmentally bad. I don't know how long it will endure in this situation. (Long enough I suspect.)
Version 10 of the STL file is updated to ensure a seal over the strut cavity.
Make sure you treat the suspension strut with a good water repelant rust preventer before you put this ocver on.
This object was made in Tinkercad. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/elpR395jngS
Updated 27 May 2021: just a minor update to add the Recycle (grade 7) plastic symbol.
Can print at 0.3 mm layer height or larger.
I printed at 0.28 mm layer height and it took 2 hours to print on my Creality CR10 Mini.
No suports needed. I recommend turning supports off.
