Official pi 4 case fan mod template

A template for adding a fan onto the official pi 4 case.
I really liked how the pi 4 official case snapped together with a satisfying snap but was disappointed that there was no easy way to add a fan to cool the hot pi. I remixed another design by minorcoma that let you drill holes into the cover but i wanted a full cutout for a 40mm fan. It snaps onto your top cover and lets you drill holes and remove the cover. See post printing for details. I just used the screws that came with the fan which I think are m3 screws. Takes just under 1 1/2 hours to print. I might make a version for a 30mm fan if people want me to.

How to mod the case
Snap the template onto the top of the case
Tape the template down so it stays on
Use a 3/32" drill bit to slowly drill out the small holes (Take the pi out before doing this!)
Use a 1/8 " drill bit to slowly drill out the 4 screw holes
Remove template
Use flush shears to cut the plastic in between the small holes
Push the center circle of plastic out
Use a file to get off the rough bits
Sand until the inside of the cutout is smooth (Do not sand the outside because it will damage the finish).
Attach the fan
