The Phoenix is a sculpture made by Ossip Zadkine in 1944 and is now in the Middelheim Open Air Sculpture Museum in Antwerp. It is made out of bronze and represents a phoenix.
Like many works by Zadkine, this statue is made of bronze. The surface of the sculpture is irregular and smooth. It is very likely to be polished, but the natural nature of the material used can be seen. The statue is gray, green and black. It is not polychromed (= colored). It is today almost hidden between the bushes in the Middelheim Open Air Sculpture Museum.
