This box is part of a collection of 6 3*3*3cm puzzle boxes that all have the same theme of lids being removed from boxes through unique and interesting means. They are ranked from 1-6 based on their difficulty even though putting these boxes together and seeing the inside mechanism can remove some of the mystery, they can still be interesting to solve and play with as well as give to your friends to try solve. Printing settings:
supports: none (the case has some big overhangs but it is more convenient to just scrape off the hanging strings) infill: 20%+ (I recommend printing the peg on a higher infill)
Extra materials:
1 - 1.5mm rod (Toothpick)
Assembly:
1)Sand down the pin so that it freely slides through the hole in the lid
2)With the pin in the square slot in the lid oriented so that the hole in the pin lined up with the small hole going through the lid slot before pushing the toothpick into that hole so that it secures the pin (look at the cross-section diagram)
3)Scrape out and sand the slots in the case so that the lid and pin can easily slide through the slots and flip sides
4)To put the lid in its unsolved state do the solution backwards (If the pin has difficulty switching sides either sand down the pin of the groves in the case until it easily swaps sides)
Solution:
1)Slide the lid to its fullest extent and put it on its side checking if you can move it in a different direction or not, if not, put it on its other side and check again
2)You should now be able to move the lid up and across until you hit another dead end
3)Again flip the box onto its other side and you should be able to move it in a different direction
4)You should be able to repeat this step fliping sides twice to follow a meandering pattern until you can take it off the top
