Grow your plants in a new and creative fashion with the R2D2 Vase! The R2D2 vase is modeled after the world's favorite droid, R2D2, and is true to form and fashion, but still is easily printable. Grow your plants in the body with or without the decorative head, or simply use it as a decorative model. Even without a plant growing inside, the R2D2 vase is still as awesome as ever! Also, there is now a plant-friendly cover for those who want to grow a plant and admire the R2D2 vase all at once. Simply grow the plant under the hole in the lid, and place the lid on once the plant has grown through the hole. Give R2 a grassy hairstyle or a bouquet of flowers for his head!
-- Supports come as the ring and pegs inserted underneath R2D2's body and should be removed after printing;print with no autogenerated supports.
-- If supports break loose, print slower; I found best results at 40 mm/s with 0.2mm layer height.
-- Photos were printed with mint green and true red Hatchbox ABS filament.
-- Infill does not matter, mine were printed at 15%.
-- The basic file simply contains a vase body and a R2D2 head suited for gardening. For a cosmetic cap unsuited for gardening, print the cosmetic cap file.
-- Rafts or brims are completely optional, but help with keeping the support pegs in place.
-- For those interested, the multicolor model was made by changing filament colors every 25% of the print.
-- Scale up to fit your needs if neccesary!
