Marble, around 50 BC - 50 AD
The sculptor has taken motifs from grave reliefs, as well as from votive and hero reliefs and combined them in an untypical way. The relief is dedicated to a heroized physician and was probably displayed in his tomb precinct, which also served as his heroon, the site of hero worship.
