This object is the Hyuuga clan symbol is a folding fan shape with a single flame in the middle. The flame's design is normally associated to chakra in the series. Knowing that, the image that comes to mind is a hand holding chakra, much like the Gentle Fist technique that the Hyuuga are known for.
