I had always wanted a tofu press, but most are rather expensive, hard to get, or require you to check on them often to adjust the pressure.
So I designed one of my own, it is easy to print (no supports), easy to use, and works great!
On my tests I managed to extract 125ml of water of a 340gr block of firm tofu pressing it overnight on the fridge.
It consists of 4 parts (body, lid, pressing lid, pressing pole), they all measure less than 20cm and in total you would use about 250gr of material.
The body has 2 variations:
1.- With holes for draining.
2.- Solid, for easy pressing with no need for another container.
There's also an optional base to raise the bottom of the body with holes and let the water flow even on a flat surface.
This press works with elastic bands, so you can adjust the pressure depending on the texture of your tofu by using more or less bands and/or by using elastics of different strengths
To make your life easier, place the elastic bands on the lid before you put the lid in place.
As a final note, before using this you should do some research on food safety with 3D printers, it's completely safe to use if you inform yourself before using it.
