Description
Totem poles are monuments created by the indigigenous people of Ambrym, a volcanic island in Vanuatu. They commemorate ancestry, histories, people or events. Usually made out of red cedar, they display crest animals that market a family's lineage and prvileges.
These beautiful poles hold a significant socio-cultural significance and stand as one of the most easily recognisable symbols of the Pacific Northwest.
