- Two handels are required - One on each side of the trike. Therefore print two of each part.
- Added a plate (AssistHandlePlateMK3 M.stl) with the parts orianted for optimal no support printing.
Recommended print settings with a .4 mm nozzle
- Layer Hight: .150 ~.160 mm, depending on motors and gearing
- 5 perimeters or shells (2.25 ~ 2.5 mm)
- 15 bottom layers (2.25 ~ 2.5 mm)
- 15 top layers (2.25 ~ 2.5 mm)
- Infill 15%~20%, depending on infill type.
Additional items needed for assembly:
- 4 x M5x12 Hex Cap screws
- 4 x M5 nuts
- 2 x M5x25 Hex Cap screw
- Lining material to help the handle clamp hold on securely to the steering tube. Common strips of bicycle helicopter tape, frame/surface guard tape or any other tacky Polly-Urethane material seem to work well. Strips cut from an old inner tube also works well.
1- Insert the M5 nuts in the molded pockets. It may be easier to use the longer M5-25 screw to first pull the nut in the nut pocket.
2- Line the surface of the steering tube with a strip of tacky material where the handle will mount.
3- Mount the handle tube clamp to the steering column tube. Secure the handle with an M5-12 screw, tightly enough to prevent slippage, but not so tight as to deform the printed parts. The lining material between the clamp and the tube should provide enough friction to prevent slippage. DO NOT OVERTIGHTENT!
4- Mount the handle in a comfortable position on the end of the tube. It can be rotated in any one of 8 different positions. Secure the handle with the M5-25 screw. Tighten enough to properly seat the handle onto the end of the tube, but no more. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
