During their adventures in the wide world outside the clanlands, young dwarfs learn to wield all manner of arms and deadly blades, so that when they return to their clans, they can present to the Clan Elders and their parents, perhaps even their loved ones a proof or their achievements. Sometimes they engage in ritualistic combat against experienced older Clan Soldiers in order to demonstrate their mastery of different weapon styles.
