Turn up...
... the volume. This simple project allows you to alter the system volume of your PC, Mac or even android phone.
Inside are an Adafruit Trinked 5V microcontroller board and a cheap rotary encoder. All in all I spend less than 20€ on this project.
Parts I used:
Adafruit Trinket 5V, 8MHz
12mm rotary encoder
4mm M2 screw
Micro USB cable
Follow the instructions here to wire and program the electronics. Don't worry - it's really basic stuff.
Alignment
To align the two zylinders perfectly first slide the cap.stl onto the shaft of the rotary encoder. Next apply superglue to the base where the encoder will be placed in the next step.
Now slide the zylinders into eachother and make sure that the gap between the parts is equal all arround. Once the glue dries you're done. Congratulations!
When everything is wired up, the controler acts as an usb input device wich sends out media key commands to your computer.
